It’s been awhile since I’ve written on the blog (Jen said it’s my turn!) so I thought I’d give you an update. Finley is about to turn 4 months old! Wow, how time has flown. As you saw from the pictures in Jen’s previous post, she’s our chunky monkey. I just love it when babies get chubby. They’re so cute. However, with all that she’s been eating, she’s also become our little spit ‘r upper. After one or two times of Finley puking all over my suit and tie or Jen’s work clothes, you’d think we’d get the hint to carry a burp cloth with us 24/7. Wrong. I can’t tell you how many times we’ve been caught dripping in spit up. Yuck. Thankfully for me, she seems to like mom’s shoulder better than mine! Katelin was also a spit ‘r upper when she was a baby, although Finley seems to be even worse. We’ve tried burping more often during feedings and other things, but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions for us? Anything you’ve found to work?
It’s really nice that Finley has turned a corner. We’ve gotten on somewhat of a schedule which includes a little more sleep for the both of us. She’s such a joy to be around. She’s a very smiley, happy baby. What a 180 from just two months ago. However, Jen goes back to work full time on Monday, which means I’m on my own all morning long until about 12:30/1:00pm. Wish me luck. It’ll also be a very hard day for Jen too so send her some thoughts of encouragement.

Dear Mike and Jen,
I guess the spitting up is inevitable, especially the way she’s been eating! Just try to remember to keep those burp cloths handy as best you can! As Finley gets older, she’ll burp more on her own, but spit up less.
Jen, it must be hard for you to be going back to full-time work. You’ll be quite busy I’m sure, but just remember…your day will fly by fast, and you have smiles and hugs to greet you when you get home! I wish you the very best. Keep the cutey pics coming….I enjoy them sooooooo much!!! Thanks for sharing

Mike and Jen,
Have you tried a little cereal in her formula? My neice has acid reflux and has the projectile spit up and this has helped her A LOT! Hopefully you find something that works for her.

Mike & Jen,
Such cute pictures of both Finnley Mae and Katelin Rae. Good luck going back to work full time.

I just read the blog from 4 months to the current day. It just makes me smile from ear to ear…but it’s because it makes me think of my hunky monkey. She actually was on the show for the mug shot of the day. Jen said she looks just like her little chunky monkey (or something like that) it’s so true. She will be 6 months February 19 so they are very close in age and it just makes it all the more fun to read your blog. As of July 19th she was 20 lbs. Yep, we have all the rolls too. I love your pictures, they are so adorable. What kind of camera do you have? I agree, the time is just flying. You love to see them grow and the new things they do but it’s sad too because before you know it their 7 and telling you they don’t want hamburgers for dinner. Ha! Oh, I have to say I think she looks like Jen. Either way you have a gorgeous family. Thanks for sharing.
